Integrate with coComment?

Tag: Tech, This Site @ 6:10 pm

I’d love to integrate with coComment

They’ve actually gone ahead and executed an idea that I’ve been kicking around in my head for quite some time now, but never got around to discussing with anyone (forget putting down on paper). There’s only so much that one can do, I guess.

So should one join with an already existing service which seems to have no commercial model at all (is that good or bad?), at least currently,  or re-create one’s own wheel every time with the exact custom circumference, spokes, rims and material that one wants?

I vote for joining in.

This site has been created off a custom code base from Amieo. The blog (what you’re reading) is pretty much customized from / for the same platform. I think integrating with the coComments javascript based meta-attributes platform shouldn’t be that tough. I guess we’ll give it a shot the next time we’re looking at that particular part of the codebase.

I love the fact that coComment has walked the extra mile in creating a Firefox plugin that integrates awesomely with the service. It provides full status bar indicators for whether your comments on this blog will be tracked and even will tell you when any of your blogs have new comments.

Very recommended for Firefox users. And if you don’t use Firefox yet, then what the heck are you waiting for? Get Firefox from the link on the right bar of my site. Now. :)

Shoutouts go out to Chrono Cr@cker for recommending coComment.

Aeon Flux

Tag: Movies @ 5:58 pm

Took the chance yesterday to finally check out Aeon Flux.
I’ve been a long standing fan and I didn’t want to miss the theatrical release of the movie. In India some movies, especially the ones that don’t really have the universal appeal of most Hollywood blockbusters, take their own time to get to theatrical release. And the really weird ones sometimes don’t make it at all!

Expecting the worst (until recently, most movie adaptations I’ve been to were really bad) I was pleasantly surprised to see that the movie pretty much captured and held on to all the nuances of the MTV series that was created by Peter Chung, and then some.

Charlize Theron is the perfect real world compliment to the animated Aeon; lithe, flexible, sufficiently mysterious and definitely very sexy. :)

The movie pretty much explains the background of the entire Aeon Flux universe, something that the original TV series didn’t really bother with. Which leaves me wondering with doubts as to why Peter Chung didn’t write the movie story and why it wasn’t weirder considering that most of the TV series stories were beyond comprehension.

Most recommended.

Cynapse turns 5 !

Tag: Cynapse @ 3:13 am

It’s hard to put down your thoughts about something when you’ve been at it for over 5 years.

Yes, Cynapse turns 5 today and it’s with great pride and honour that I salute the effort of all the people who work in Cynapse. This must include the few people who’ve been forced to leave us, along the way, due to situations beyond their control.

Cynapse would not have been where it is today without your efforts.

I must also talk about how we’ve grown, in Cynapse. All through these years, it’s been a learning experience. Over the years, we’ve learnt which technology to adapt / invent, how to hone it to perfection, even more importantly, how to adapt it to the market or audience who needs / wants it the most!

Some of our work has yet to see the light of day, because it was too early for it’s time. Some of the work that we’re doing currently has enough power in the basic offering itself that it can revolutionise the productivity enhancement arena completely changing the way you work, store your thoughts, interact and collaborate with your friends and co-workers and even how you showcase all this information and knowledge with the rest of the world. More on this later. ;-)

Over the 5 years, we’ve been regularly gaining in confidence, maturity and been building up, on our technology enablers and capability offerings.

This 6th year shall definitely pave the way for the things to come.

We brought in the 6th year with a small celebration in our dev center, Sarfaraz has published some photos of the event.

The New Web

Tag: Cynapse @ 5:12 pm

We’ve recently launched NEOBinaries.com. It’s our effort at mapping out all the confusion that is currently present in the new, happening, Web 2.0 arena.

We’ve got web application reviews; we review the promising applications telling you what’s cool, what’s not in the applications you wanna know about.

We’ve got a hot and happening news blog. We talk about the coolest launches, our views on the whole scene and what you need to know.

We’ve got a discussion forum powered by technology that will blow your socks off.

You can comment on everything on the site. Tell the world what you’ve always wanted to.

We’ve got it all running on the Amieo platform. Which is cool.

It’s all new. It’s all happening on NEO Binaries. Head there and let us (and the whole world) know what you think.
